About PRAXIS

Research Group on Digital Governance and Public-Interest Sociotechnical Mediations, formed in 2026 at UNESP/FCLAr.

Who we are

PRAXIS brings together researchers and students from UNESP and from other institutions in Brazil and abroad around one question: how data, artificial intelligence and digital services transform the relationship between the state and people.

The group is based at the Faculty of Science and Letters of Araraquara and is coordinated by Dr Paula Toledo Palomino. It is certified in the Directory of Research Groups (Diretório dos Grupos de Pesquisa) of Brazil’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), with Administration as its predominant area.

What the group produces

PRAXIS generates knowledge, methods, models, artefacts and guidelines for digital governance and public-interest sociotechnical mediations. Its research seeks to improve the use of data and artificial intelligence, contributing to more transparent, accessible, traceable and responsible digital services, as well as to evidence-based public decisions. Interdisciplinary in nature, the group brings together Public Administration, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Applied Linguistics, Education and Information Science, promoting the training of researchers and students.

How we work

  1. In the life of the group: readings and discussions, workshops, group exercises, exchanges of methods and presentations of work.
  2. In projects: research, listening, writing, production of materials and evaluation of prototypes.
  3. As a network: researchers from other institutions in Brazil and abroad take part in the research lines and projects, broadening the diversity of perspectives and strengthening the group’s interdisciplinary character.
  • 20 people in the group
